Bugle Succulent Planter. We visited a garden in mid summer where the head gardener used slabs on their side close dug in soil together with 35mm of soil in between and succulents on the top. The plants were thriving..so i asked how….he said the roots of succulents got water from the soil low down in gaps between slabs, which fed succulent above. So i thought how can i adapt that theory to a musical instrument to be an art feature as well as practical. The tube is filled with soil and retains water and is col from being metal. So i planted my succulent bugle and left it in my porch that gets quite hot. its been there 5 months with no problem and requires little watering / not often. so here’s my working one to show you and one for sale. I fitted bugle on a wood base from a local tree that was being pollarded
Height 660mm and Bugle top 120m
