November Projects
Works..
Its been a month of sorting out the workshop and studio to see exactly what i have that can be refurbed and sold or got rid of / What’s personal and what’s ShedArt-79 / What gets sold on E-Bay as personal stuff or on E-Bay / Sum Up or Shed-Art-79 as Business sales.
Well i found some good stuff to sell in all the above categories. I have put what i can on E-bay and ShedArt-79 Website to date but lots more coming as i sort it and do my bit.
I have been trying E-Bay with ShedArt-79 stuff first for a few weeks , and if no sale then moving them onto ShedArt-79 website…..so a lot on both at the moment. Have found lots of Art and Wooden Art and some lovely old vintage desk lamps with hardwood bases that need a bit of attention though, but nothing i cannot put back in safe working order by rewiring and new lamp-holders and then P.A.T the finished article.
I love the Vintage Light Fittings to work on and to bring up to spec, they are usually structurally made so well, but wiring is usually dubious depending upon age.. Earthing wasn’t used on many even though some had metal lamp-holders on chain drop pendants and metal framed shades. Always buy CE/UKCA Labelled / BS 7671 Lighting accessories from companies like “Lilley” or “Lampspares” for guaranteed quality parts and good product advice.
I have come across a lot of fittings with E26 Standard - US/Canadian - UL Standard 120v with Metal Lamp Holders which are non compliant in Europe, especially with no earth terminal (essential on pendant metal lamp holders) . Should pick this up on a P.A.T test for Class 1 if in any doubt.
I am not a fan of some of these lamp holders that also have had cardboard insulators. Not a good idea with Halogen or Filament Lamps as they tend to run hot because of high wattages.
Jobs Done.. Cats Radiator Self… The cats love laying on top of double radiators, but issue is burning paws and heat blocked to house from them sitting on top. so i devised a solution that has suited both issues. I made a wooden shelf with slots cut in it (not big enough for paws to go down) that sits on 1” high blocks and anti slide posts. so this allows air flow and warm happy cats. See pics below.
